Anyone who’s ever had to plan a wedding knows just how stressful it is to get all of your ducks in a row! It’s difficult to account for every little thing that could happen on the big day, especially when you’re getting all kinds of different advice from everyone around you.
But quite honestly, you can let most of these things go! Your big day is still going to be a great time, and stressing about every little thing just isn’t going to help you relax and enjoy the process.
Focus on what’s important right now. Get the bridesmaids’ dresses all coordinated, get your dream caterers to serve food at the big event, and chase up anyone who hasn’t already sent through their RSVP.
Once that’s all been squared away, you can refocus on the small yet crucial details. These are the kind of things that’ll make the event comfortable, convenient, and more enjoyable for everyone.

And to make sure your wedding day goes off without a hitch, we’ve listed the most important of these below.
Who’s Going to Double Check the Venue is Ready?
On the day of your wedding, you’re going to be tied up getting ready. Your hair and makeup will need to be done, and you’ll need to have final checks on the wedding dress to ensure it fits right and has been properly tailored for the shape you’re after. You’re also going to need at least a little bit of time to yourself to relax before you say your vows!
All in all, that’s not going to leave you much time to get out and about. You’re not going to have a chance to run over to the wedding and/or reception venue to ensure it’s been decorated properly and is ready for the whole party to come along and use it.
And trust us, many a marrying couple have been scuppered by this! So you’ll need to have it noted down who will be able to do this, and also lend a hand to finish the decorating in record time if required.
Make sure you ask around and get a verified agreement from someone before your day arrives.
How Will Guests Share Their Photos?
It’s not just your photographer that’s going to be snapping shots throughout the day. Your guests are all going to get a few photos of their own. These shots are likely to be more candid and casual, and really reflect just how comfortable, relaxed, and happy everyone attending the wedding really is.
A.K.A., they’re the kind of pictures you’ll definitely want to see afterwards!
But seeing as these pics will be on different phones, and not everyone is guaranteed to have the right number to send them to, you’re going to need a proper solution for this issue.
A social media hashtag can help, but it can also be a bit difficult to ensure everyone spells the hashtag right. You’ll also need to double check that the hashtag isn’t already related to anything else!
A Wedding QR Code Gallery is also a pretty good option to go for, but you’ll need to be sure everyone knows how to use it. You can send round an email or a text with instructions, and then your guests can simply upload their pics and videos there.
Does Anyone Have Accessibility Needs?
If they do, you do not want to leave it until the big day to accommodate for them. That’s going to slow things down and cause a lot of embarrassment, especially for the person who has these access needs in the first place.
Get them accounted for well in advance, and then double check they’re still in place and OK to use at least three days before the wedding happens. From making space for a wheelchair to providing an order of service booklet with larger font size, get these arrangements sorted ASAP.
Will Anyone Be Around to Help You Pack Up the Day After?
Another convenience issue you’ll want to have properly sorted out! Once your wedding is over, who is going to be around to help you take down the decorations, box things up, transport any food leftovers, and simply help you get the venue tidied?
Remember, you’re likely to need three to four sets of hands for this, as the venue probably won’t do everything themselves!
Ask around your wedding party to see who has time the day after and is willing to help out. And if no one is, you’ll have plenty of time to make other arrangements to take care of this issue!
Do You Have Time to Try on Your Shoes Before the Day Itself?
Brides’ shoes are often high-heeled, sleek, and beautiful. This also makes them quite narrow, pointy, and hard to slip onto your feet in a comfortable way! As such, are you going to have time to try on your pair and wear them in a bit before the wedding day itself?
You’ll probably have at least a couple weeks for this, so it’ll be quite easy to fit this little task into the overall schedule. However, will you remember to do so? That’s the sticking point here; many brides forget they’re going to be on their feet for the majority of the ceremony AND the reception! Plus, in the whirlwind of wedding day planning, the little things like this simply end up forgotten.
You don’t want the shoes you’re wearing on the happiest day of your life to be the most uncomfortable heels you’ve ever had to strap on. Make a note of this and stick it on your computer monitor, the fridge, your phone, or wherever else it is you’re most likely to see the reminder.
Don’t Let Your Wedding Plans Become a Worry
Get the big stuff out of the way and then focus on the details like these. Any of them can become a problem on your big day, so allocate your time carefully.
